Mario Balotelli

Shirt off, arms out, jaw clenched — that single image from June 28, 2012 became one of football's most iconic celebrations, and it's exactly the moment this card is built around. In Italy's Euro 2012 semi-final against Germany, Mario Balotelli scored both goals in a 2-1 win, opening the scoring with a header off an Antonio Cassano cross before doubling it with a thunderous strike after Riccardo Montolivo split the German defence wide open. The second goal sent him into that now-legendary pose, and it capped off a run of form that made him the tournament's joint-top scorer with three goals, carrying Italy past Germany and into the final against Spain. It was, in his own words, "the greatest night of my life" — a rare moment where his generational talent silenced every headline about his off-field chaos.

The stats capture a player who was as physically dominant as he was technically gifted. An 89 Strength and 84 Speed explain how he bullied defenders off the ball before outrunning them, while an 85 Control and 88 Shooting reflect the composure he showed against Neuer in that semi-final — this wasn't a striker who relied purely on power, he genuinely had the touch to match. A 77 Passing rounds out a surprisingly complete offensive skillset for a No.9, and at 189 cm, he had the physical presence to dominate in the air as he did against Germany. His 70 Stamina and rock-bottom 23 Tackling confirm the obvious trade-off — Balotelli was never going to track back, his entire value lived inside the opposition box.

An 82 rating puts this card firmly in the mid-tier of DLS's Champion collection, but the numbers undersell just how dangerous Balotelli could be in the right moment. This is a card of peaks, not consistency — built for the manager who wants an unpredictable, powerful CF capable of turning a single match on its head, exactly like he did against Germany that night. For anyone assembling an Italy squad or simply chasing the most talked-about celebration in Euro history, the 2012 Mario Balotelli remains one of the most colourful and memorable picks in the entire lineup.
